I’m sure there’s other ways to get to this setting, but if you search for “Xbox game bar” it wont’ come up. Note that it is vitally important to only search for the word Xbox, not the whole game bar phrase. That’s it! The pesky ms-gaming overlay popup will never bother you again.

  • disable the Game Bar with the flick switch.
  • an option appears in the list under Settings called enable Xbox Game Bar, select it.
